Gentian Diagnostics is a Norwegian company that develops and manufactures open channel turbidimetric assays for use on clinical chemistry analyzers. Gentian USA, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gentian Diagnostics that was established in 2012 to serve the US market.
The current portfolio and pipeline of diagnostic reagents span areas of kidney disease, cardiac disease, inflammation, infection, and veterinary medicine.
Cystatin C - FDA510(k) cleared since 2008
Since launching its assay in 2001, Gentian Diagnostics has become synonymous with cystatin C. The Gentian Cystatin C Immunoassay was FDA510(k) cleared in 2008 and subsequently used to evaluate the commutability of the IFCC reference material (ERM-DA471/IFCC) in 2010.
The assay can be applied on a wide range of clinical chemical analyzers with documented high inter instrument accuracy for serum and plasma samples.
