Gentian Diagnostics is a Norwegian in vitro diagnostics company, with deep scientific roots and a strong international presence. Headquartered in Moss, Norway, we combine advanced R&D, in-house production, and global commercial partnerships to deliver high-quality immunoassays to laboratories worldwide.
Gentian specialises in development and manufacturing of turbidimetric assays with avian antibodies to empower clinical lab professionals achieving operational efficiency. Our portfolio and pipeline of diagnostic reagents covers areas of diseases in the areas of kidneys, inflammation, infection, cardiac and veterinary medicine. From our facilities in Moss, our multidisciplinary teams develop, manufacture, and quality-control all core assay components.

Diagnostic tests and ab solutions from Gentian, BÜHLMANN, Mindray and Certest
We provide a broad portfolio of diagnostic tests and laboratory solutions to customers across the Nordics. In addition to our own Gentian-developed turbidimetric immunoassays, we distribute selected products from BÜHLMANN Laboratories AG, Mindray and Certest to customers across the Nordics.
IVDR-certified products
Gentian started the preparation for implementation of the European In-Vitro Diagnostic Regulation, EU 2017/746 already in 2017. The Gentian Cystatin C and GCAL® Calprotectin assays have been IVDR certified by TüV SÜD since September 2022.
BÜHLMANN has also been successful in implementing the transfer of their IVDD products to IVDR.
Gentian turbidimetric immunoassays:
- Cystatin C – Assists in the early detection of kidney disease (IVDR)
- GCAL® – Calprotectin in plasma and serum for early detection and sensitive assessment of inflammation and infection (IVDR)
- Retinol-Binding Protein (RBP) – aid in detection of vitamin A deficiency, undernutrition, diabetes and renal dysfunction
- Canine CRP – Quantitative measurement of C-reactive protein (CRP) in dog plasma and serum
- NT-proBNP – For clinical chemistry instruments (Under development)
